The first trailer for Prisoners starring Hugh Jackman and Jake Gyllenhaal is rather intense

I feel like I’ve heard zero about PRISONERS starring Hugh Jackman and Jake Gyllenhaal, which turns out to be a good thing since this trailer makes the flick look sort of kick ass.

When it first starts, you think it could go one of two ways until the two little girls take off on their own. So as parents, Hugh Jackman, Maria Bello, Terrence Howard, and Viola Davis seek out the police and Jake Gyllenhaal is put on the case. But when Jackman’s character doesn’t get the results he wants then he decides to take things into his own hands. It’s like THE PUNISHER meets TAKEN minus the international travel and inject some reality. I know you guys will like it.

Denis Villeneuve directed the screenplay written by Aaron Guzikowski(CONTRABAND). PRISONERS hits theaters on September 20, 2013.

Synopsis: Keller Dover is facing every parent’s worst nightmare. His 6-year-old daughter and her young friend are missing, and as minutes turn to hours, panic sets in. The only lead is a dilapidated RV that had been parked on their street. Heading the investigation, Detective Loki arrests its driver, but a lack of evidence forces the only suspect’s release. Knowing his child’s life is at stake, the frantic Dover decides he has no choice but to take matters into his own hands. The desperate father will do whatever it takes to find the girls, but in doing so, may lose himself, begging the question: When do you cross the line between seeking justice and becoming a vigilante?
