TIFF Lineup Revealed!

Although I am a Torontonian born and raised, I have spent the last five years of my life in Montreal drinking and laying in shade, and have in turn made a habit (much to my dismay) of missing the glitz, glamor, and galas that make up the Toronto International Film Festival

.Thanks to my inability to control my most primitive urges, I have moved back to Toronto in search of greener pastures and will finally be granted the chance to experience the cinematic mecca first hand. The powers that be have released the festival’s full lineup, which (un)fortunately takes a backseat to the lineup that most of us truly care about. The guest list. Known to attract the biggest stars from across the globe, this year’s fest will be no different.

A-listers scheduled to appear include Brad Pitt, Ed Norton, Colin Farrell, Matt Damon, Liam Neeson, Ethan Hawke, Benicio Del Toro, Antonio Banderas, and many, many more. Looks like this year’s TIFF is shaping up to be a real sausage fest. I guess I will have to derive my pleasure in the theater, rather than through Galiano-induced cleavage.

Notable films scheduled to make their premiere at the fest include Gavin O’Connor’s Gotham cop family saga PRIDE AND GLORY, starring Norton and Colin Farrell; Neil Burger’s THE LUCKY ONES with Rachel McAdams, Tim Robbins and Michael Pena and Rod Lurie’s government scandal pic NOTHING BUT THE TRUTH starring Kate Beckinsale and Matt Dillon. The hottest ticket this year I believe, will be the North American premiere of the Coen Bros. latest, BURN AFTER READING, of which I have a better chance of bedding Angelina than I do getting tickets.
