Sherlock: The Abominable Bride will see the return of Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman as Sherlock Holmes and Dr. John Watson, respectively, in a one-off episode set in Victorian London in 1895. If you're wondering when you can watch these two in action, the date hast been set: Jan 1, 2016. If that's not enough, there will also be two theatrical screens in select theaters via Fathom Events on January 6th and 7th (click here to check applicable theaters in your area). To get you in the sleuthing mood, here's a new trailer for The Abominable Bride!

I've enjoyed a handful of Steven Moffat's Sherlock episodes, but I'm actually pretty pumped to see a return to their traditional roots with this one-off special. The series' greatest assets, without a doubt, is that of Cumberbatch and Freeman. I would watch those two just having brunch and be enthralled. As far as a theatrical screening for this special goes . . . well, I may just have to make the trek out to see this on the big screen!

Sherlock: The Abominable Bride will premiere on Jan 1, 2016, 9pm ET on MASTERPIECE on PBS.
