A new trailer for the sex addict romcom THANKS FOR SHARING has dropped, which has a nice balance of comedy and drama mixed in for a movie that looks much better than it should. Then again, I was very impressed with first-time director Stuart Blumberg's writing for both THE KIDS ARE ALL RIGHT and THE GIRL NEXT DOOR, so it's not that surprising. Toss in a top notch cast that includes Mark Ruffalo, Gwyneth Paltrow, Tim Robbins, Josh Gad, Joely Richardson, and Alecia Moore (aka Pink) and you've got something to work with.

Take a look:

Here's the synopsis:

A romantic comedy that follows the lives of three friends who meet while attending 12-step meetings to help treat their addiction to sex.

Okay, fine, I'll admit that Gwyneth Paltrow in lingerie is more than enough to intrigue me on this one, but still, the concept is solid and definitely a rarity for this genre, so it's refreshing to have a different angle that actually presents, y'know, an actual challenge for our protagonists. Flawed and real characters are a great start for a good story and Blumberg's characters have been known to possess such attributes. If I have to "bite the bullet" for a romcom this year, I'll happily take it for THANKS FOR SHARING.

THANKS FOR SHARING opens on September 20, 2013.
