Parents (1989), Randy Quaid, Horror Comedy- Best Horror Movie You Never Saw!

Last Updated on July 30, 2021

In the latest episode of our Best Horror You Never Saw video series, we take a look at the 1989 dark horror comedy Parents (OWN IT HERE / WATCH IT HERE), directed by Bob Balaban (My Boyfriend's Back), and starring Randy Quaid (Independence Day) and Mary Beth Hurt (Young Adult)!

The film itself is a biting satire of late-50's Americana, and uses its horror conceit to say some prescient things about tradition, family, and conformity, alongside some stylish camera work and a great, career-best performance by Quaid!

Here's the official synopsis:

A young boy living in 1950s suburbia suspects his parents are cannibalistic murderers.

Anyway, this is a great film for those who can vibe off of its very particular wavelength, so we'd love it if you could check out our newest episode to help spread the word! And for more video content, please subscribe to our recently launched YouTube channel JoBlo Horror Videos!
