Teaser for Castle Rock shows glimpses of the Stephen King multiverse

Last Updated on July 30, 2021

Stephen King has had a better year at the movies than he’s had in years, with IT becoming one of the biggest smashes of the year, GERALD’S GAME lighting up Netflix and THE DARK TOWER giving dad’s something to do while they wait for their kids to finish soccer practice. Yet another King-related project is on the horizon, CASTLE ROCK, and it promises to be unlike any other, as it weaves together several locations, characters and themes from the author’s work to deliver a haunting anthology series set in the “King multiverse.” You can watch the teaser above, featuring appearances from Sissy Spacek (CARRIE) and Bills Skarsgard (IT), and get ready to count off all the Easter eggs.

Here is the plot synopsis for the show:

A psychological-horror series set in the Stephen King multiverse, Castle Rock combines the mythological scale and intimate character storytelling of King's best-loved works, weaving an epic saga of darkness and light, played out on a few square miles of Maine woodland. The series stars André Holland, Melanie Lynskey, Sissy Spacek, Bill Skarsgård, Jane Levy and Scott Glenn.

Sam Shaw & Dustin Thomason developed the project for television and serve as executive producers along with J.J. Abrams, Ben Stephenson and Liz Glotzer. Castle Rock is from Bad Robot Productions in association with Warner Bros. Television.
