The Boys, Season 3, Miles Gaston Villaneuva, Nick Wechsler, Sean PAtrick Flannery

The Boys has cast three more costumed creeps for its third season. It has been announced that Sean Patrick Flanery, Miles Gaston Villanueva, and Nick Wechsler are joining the cast as Supersonic, Gunpowder, and Blue Hawk, respectively.

Flannery, best known for his role in the cult classic The Boondock Saints, is set to play Gunpowder,  a minor antagonist in the comic book series and a member of Teenage Kix's corrupt superhero team. He can create, shape, and manipulate the muzzle energy, the energy of a bullet or other projectile as it is launched from a firearm’s muzzle as well as enhance the speed/strength of projectile weaponry (firearms, arrows, thrown objects, energy balls, etc.) through various means, such as channeling energy into the object. He is said to be a parody of Judge Dredd.

Villaneuva is set to play Supersonic, who is reportedly Starlight's (Erin Moriarty) ex-boyfriend. As of now, there is no official word on either his story or his superpowers. Villaneuva is best known for his roles on The Young and the Restless, Law & Order True Crime: The Menendez Murders, The Resident, and The CW's Nancy Drew.

Lastly, Wechsler joins the cast as Blue Hawk, an original creation for the show and not in "The Boys" comics by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson. Nick Wechsler is best known for playing Kyle Valenti for three seasons on the cult fan-favorite series Roswell and for playing Jack Porter for four seasons on ABC's Revenge

The recent casting additions join Supernatural's Jensen Ackles, added as the Captain America-like icon Solider Boy for season three. The third season is said to focus a lot on Soldier Boy and his old superhero team Payback, referred to as "the Seven before the Seven" by showrunner Eric Kripke. We'll have to wait and see how these three new characters are worked into the story.

On The Boys, a present-day world is imagined where superheroes, controlled by the unscrupulous Vought corporation, purport to stand for “truth and justice” while secretly committing heinous acts. During season two, Hughie (Jack Quaid), Mother’s Milk (Laz Alonso), Frenchie (Tomer Capon), and Kimiko (Karen Fukuhara) were on the run from the law, hunted by the Supes, and desperately trying to regroup and fight back against Vought. The Supes of The Seven also includes Queen Maeve (Dominique McElligott), A-Train (Jessie T. Usher), The Deep (Chace Crawford), and Black Noir (Nathan Mitchell), while Karl Urban plays Butcher. The series also stars Erin Moriarty, Antony Starr, and Aya.

Season 3 of The Boys has already begun filming, but no premiere date has been announced at this time. Are YOU excited about these new additions to the cast?
