The upcoming fourth season of The Handmaid's Tale will find June (Elisabeth Moss) taking her rebellion against the totalitarian regime of Gilead to the next level. The third season of the Hulu series came to a close with June having scored a major victory by helping many young girls escape Gilead, but suffering from a gunshot wound in the process. The newly released teaser trailer for the fourth season of The Handmaid's Tale obviously reveals that June survives, but she certainly seems to be even more hardened by her experiences, in fact, her quest for revenge and justice will threaten to consume her and destroy her most cherished relationships.

The Handmaid's Tale has already been renewed for a fifth season, and it was announced in 2019 that an adaptation of Margaret Atwood's sequel novel The Testaments was also in the works. The novel isn't told from the perspective of Offred (June), but "instead from those of three other women connected to Gilead: a young woman raised in the oppressive society; a Canadian teen who learns she was actually born there; and Aunt Lydia, a major villain in both the original novel and the show."

The official synopsis for The Handmaid's Tale:
