Ever since WAYNE'S WORLD stars Mike Myers and Dana Carvey reunited on the Oscars stage to present BOHEMIAN RHAPSODY for a Best Picture nomination, there's been an increasing demand among fans of the legendary SNL characters for the duo to appear in a new film. While nothing official has been said about developing a WAYNE'S WORLD 3, Tia Carrere, who starred as Cassandra, Wayne's hard-rockin' girlfriend in both the original comedy and its sequel, says that she'd totally be down to appear in another installment.
Recently while appearing on the YouTube show Popcorn Talk, Carrere was asked if she'd be interested in strapping on her guitar and high heels as the frontwoman of her in-movie rockband Crucial Taunt. Carerre, who is in my experience is nothing short of a pure spitfire, enthusiastically repsonded, “Of course I would be on board! Are you kidding?” Then, after hearing actress's passion for the idea, Carrere was asked to pitch a potential storyline for her character, if an offer of a new film were to come along. “If they're still living in a basement somewhere, it's just sad.” She then followed up on her previous comment by saying, “Let’s figure it out,” which some might interpret as a call to arms for WAYNE'S WORLD and WAYNE'S WORLD 2 screenwriters Bonnie and Terry Turner to get crackin' on a new script.
In WAYNE'S WORLD (1992), Mike Myers and Dana Carvey star as Wayne Campbell and Garth Algar, respectively. Together, the metal-infused duo host their own public access variety show "Wayne's World" and in time take the show to greater heights after being discovered by a sleazy producer named Benjamin Oliver (Rob Lowe). Along the journey of bringing his passion project to the masses, Wayne encounters Cassandra, the stylish, sexy, and seriously badass frontwoman of the rock band Crucial Taunt. As creative control over "Wayne's World" begins to slip from Wayne and Garth's grasp, the pair, plus Cassandra, enact a plan to reclaim their respective projects from a money-hungry schmoozer.
