Trailer: HBO’s The Third Day traps Jude Law and Naomie Harris in paradise

Last Updated on July 30, 2021

In May, HBO will begin airing a limited series called The Third Day, which will tell a story separated into two parts that play out over six episodes. Those two parts are "Summer", written by Dennis Kelly, and "Winter", written by Kelly, Kit de Wall, and Dean O’Loughlin.

In Summer, one man (Jude Law) visits a mysterious island off the British coast and discovers a group of inhabitants intent on preserving their home at any cost. In the second half, Winter, a strong-willed outsider (Naomie Harris) comes to the island seeking answers — but instead causes a battle to decide its fate.

The show was created by Felix Barrett and Dennis Kelly. It's directed by Marc Munden and Philippa Lowthorpse, each of them taking the helm of three episodes. Law and Harris are joined in the cast by Katherine Waterston, Paddy Considine, Emily Watson, John Dagleish, and Freya Allan.

The Third Day has a premiere date of May 11th, and with that day drawing near HBO has released a trailer, embedded above, online. There are some glimpses of Harris in there, but the main focus in this trailer is Law's "Summer" ordeal.

This looks to be an intriguing thriller with some great visuals, so I'll be checking it out.
