However unlikely it might once have seemed, Zack Snyder's Justice League will debut on HBO Max next month, finally bringing the director's original vision for the film to life. Spanning over four hours, Zack Snyder's Justice League is full of unseen footage, new visual effects, as well as few newly shot additions, and in Anthony Breznican's Vanity Fair article, one tidbit caught the eye of fans when it said that Snyder had "reshot the ending with a hero cameo that will blow hard-core fans’ minds." It remains to be seen who this hero will be, but some have jumped to the conclusion that Ryan Reynolds will be reprising his role of Green Lantern; as fun as that might be, the actor took to Twitter to deny his involvement.

As poorly received as Green Lantern was, most were pleased with Ryan Reynolds' performance as Hal Jordan, and there's been hope that he might get to revisit the role more successfully somewhere down the line; somewhat similar to how he rehabilitated Deadpool after the character's disastrous first outing in X-Men Origins: Wolverine. Any guesses on who this mysterious hero might be?

The official synopsis for Zack Snyder's Justice League:

In ZACK SNYDER’S JUSTICE LEAGUE, determined to ensure Superman’s (Henry Cavill) ultimate sacrifice was not in vain, Bruce Wayne (Ben Affleck) aligns forces with Diana Prince (Gal Gadot) with plans to recruit a team of metahumans to protect the world from an approaching threat of catastrophic proportions. The task proves more difficult than Bruce imagined, as each of the recruits must face the demons of their own pasts to transcend that which has held them back, allowing them to come together, finally forming an unprecedented league of heroes. Now united, Batman (Affleck), Wonder Woman (Gadot), Aquaman (Jason Momoa), Cyborg (Ray Fisher) and The Flash (Ezra Miller) may be too late to save the planet from Steppenwolf, DeSaad and Darkseid and their dreadful intentions.

Zack Snyder's Justice League will debut on HBO Max on March 18, 2021.
