Daybreakers release

In some places, today is Boxing Day, in others it’s Black Friday Part II, and others still it’s just another Friday the week before the New Year. Here at AITH, today is Lionsgate day, as we have already been updated with new pics from MY BLOODY VALENTINE 3-D (HERE) and KILL THEORY (HERE), and now we have another Lionsgate update for you… the release date of the upcoming vampire flick DAYBREAKERS!

Directed by the Spierig Brothers, who gave us the awesomely fun UNDEAD, DAYBREAKERS stars Ethan Hawke, Sam Neill, and Willem Dafoe, and it goes a little something like this: In the year 2017, a plague has transformed most every human into vampires. Faced with a dwindling blood supply, the fractured dominant race plots their survival; meanwhile, a researcher works with a covert band of vamps on a way to save humankind.

Yes, you know all that. But what you want to know is when will DAYBREAKERS hit theaters already??? Drum roll, please…. September 11, 2009! Boo-ya! Ok, so maybe the date isn’t one to be thankful for, but that fact that it’s coming out right before Halloween is pretty awesome… then again, September’s usually a ‘dump month,’ so this may be a bad sign… either way, DAYBREAKERS is coming, yo!

So good or bad, the movie has a date. And good or bad, I can’t wait to check it out… the cast is too cool, the directors are too good, and the concept is too rockin’ not to get geeked out about it. Bring it on! DAYBREAKERS hits theaters everywhere September 11th.
