Fox Home Video announced that they plan on releasing the DVD on July 5th. Some of the early specs on the film are already out, so without further ado...

At the Cinema Wasteland convention, director Terry Lofton revealed that he indeed has made a deal with Synapse Films to release a special edition DVD of his 1985 film The Nail Gun Massacre. The only release of the film on DVD have been rather low-grade presentation. However, Lofton reassured us that the folks at Synapse are going to "put out an anamorphic widescreen high-definition transfer that looks unbelievable." Lofton also stated that they are planning on doing a commentary as well as some other extras that he wouldn't spill the beans on. Lastly, he ended with a confirmation of a sequel in the works entitled The Nail Gun Massacre: The Texas Nail Gun Massacre, the film's synopsis, is said to be about women going around "nailing" men. Well, I guess that'll go in the porn collection. Ha ha!

The special edition is not available for pre-order yet but if you can not possibly wait any longer, than you can buy the Limited Edition version by Clicking here...Impatient bastard...

Warner Bros. sent over some early details about the recently released mind-bender The Jacket. The film stars Adrien Brody as a Gulf War veteran wrongly accused of murder, and subsequently committed to a mental institution. A controversial treatment regime sends him on a mind-bending journey into the future, where he can foresee his death - and must try to stop it. Film was pretty good if you ask me and should get a decent DVD release. The date has been set for June 21st and comes with the following extras.

  • 2:40:1 Anamorphic wide screen presentation
  • English Dolby Digital 5.1
  • French Dolby Digital 5.1
  • "Look of the Jacket" Documentary
  • Jacket: Project History featurette
  • Deleted Scenes
  • Trailers
  • and possibly more...

After Adrien Brody found out that The Jacket wasn't yet available to pre-order he went insane and had to be restrained. Luckily only a few squirrels and senior-citizens we're injured. Don't find yourself in the same predicament, just keep checking back and we'll let you know when The Jacket is ready for pre-order!

PROPHECY: Uprising & PROPHECY: Forsaken

The final details have been released on two upcoming sequels in the Prophecy franchise. The first, Prophecy: Uprising is set for a June 7th release. As for the DVD itself, well, it will include a 1.85:1 anamorphic transfer and Dolby Digital 5.1. Extras will include an audio commentary track, a deleted scene and an extended ending, a making-of featurette, cast audition tapes and a still gallery slideshow. The second film being Prophecy: Forsaken which arrives September 6th. Although no other details have been release on this title, you can probably expect the same treatment as the other film.

Okay, so Christoher Walken didn't return for these sequels but, hey he did give three good outings...Hopefully he makes a return to the horror genre sometime soon though. Anyway, if you want to pre-order Prophecy: Uprising, Click here and while your at it, might as well get the next installment too, Click here to pre-order Prophecy: Forsaken.
