Hugo hunts Wolfy

Last Updated on July 27, 2021

Last month we went through a couple weeks where THE WOLFMAN was without a director. It was a pretty exciting time as names of directors were being thrown around left and right.

Eventually director Joe Johnston got the gig. Johnston’s only genre credit is JURASSIC PARK 3, with the majority of his stuff befoe that aimed at younger audiences. So it’s a pretty interesting choice, but I’m staying open minded with it.

Well news coming in from Variety has Hugo Weaving (above) joining the cast. He’ll be playing a detective who’s trying to track The Wolfman down. Sounds good to me. Of course Weaving has been involved in various blockbuster films, including a couple of big time trilogies, one having to do with some ring and the other starting with a couple colored pills.

Weaving joins Benicio Del Toro, Anthony Hopkins, and Emily Blunt (below). Andrew Kevin Walker wrote the script with a rewrite from David Self. The flick starts lensing in London next month, looking at a February (Friday the) 13, 2009.

The beautiful Emily Blunt… those are some eyes.
