When the MAB Studios / Silent Studios Productions monster mash movie WITCHULA was first announced, it was said that the project was aiming to be "the EXPENDABLES of horror", and the casting news revealed this morning confirms that WITCHULA does have the involvement of a genre icon who would definitely have to be part of a horror EXPENDABLES.
Four-time Jason Voorhees Kane Hodder has signed on to serve as the film's Stunt Coordinator and will also be playing the pivotal role of a character named Elias Lou Warren.
JASON GOES TO HELL told us that Elias was the name of Jason Voorhees' father, so the fact that Hodder has been cast as a character with that name is likely not a coincidence. He joins a cast that already includes Bill Oberst Jr., Eileen Dietz, and Marilyn Ghigliotti.
Written and directed by Marcus Bradford and Pat Kusnadi, WITCHULA will tell the following story:
A group of college exchange students travel to a small and remote town situated on an exotic island; only to discover they are being hunted down by a powerful witch-vampire "hybrid" that seeks something in their possession.
In addition to the titular hybrid creature, the film will also feature regular vampires and witches, as well as werewolves.
