Legendary Pics adapts supernatural comic Gravel, FX guru Tim Miller to helm

Overstated, but no less true…another day, another damn comic-book adaptation!

Deadline is reporting that Legendary Pictures has set FX guru Tim Miller to adapt GRAVEL – a supernatural comic from Warren Ellis – into a live-action motion picture. You may not know Miller by name, but you’ve surely seen his work. He not only did the opening sequence to Fincher’s THE GIRL WITH THE DRAGON TATTOO, he has his own CG animation studio specializing in videogame graphics. GRAVEL will mark his sophomore effort, behind Fox’s 2014 DEADPOOL movie. Or maybe, just maybe he sneaks GRAVEL in beforehand. Doubtful.

With Oliver Butcher and Stephen Cornwell writing the screenplay: Gravel revolves around the character William Gravel, a soldier in the British S.A.S. who uses his skills in dark magic to moonlight and battle supernatural beings for clients in order to make some extra cash.

Dark magic huh? Sounds weird enough to give a try. Anyone read GRAVEL? What kind of movie would it make? Who should play the title character? I nominate Danny Radcliffe. Kidding.
