NECA convention fun

Earlier this week, NECA dropped some news on a couple of figures expected to make appearances at a variety of summer conventions at which NECA is setting up shop this year.

More details on which conventions these guys will show up at are expected in the near future, but here’s a taste of what NECA has revealed. First up is NIGHTMARE BEFORE CHRISTMAS’ Jack Skellington dressed in his tattered pirate garb as seen in his cameo appearance in JAMES AND THE GIANT PEACH. Jack is fully posable and comes complete with loads of accessories including: A removable magnetic pirate hat, a skeleton parrot, a compass, a sword and a huge pirate flag. We told you yesterday about the insane amount of merchandise that this franchise has generated, and so here’s another example.

Speaking of pirates, an exclusive version of Captain Jack Sparrow from the upcoming PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN sequel will also make an appearance. Based on Jack’s look when he visits Cannibal Island, this figure features an all new head sculpt with a closed eyes expression and tribal paint decoration on its face. Jack also sports a necklace constructed of severed toes, is fully posable and also comes with a collection of other pirate-related accessories.

Lastly. for fans of RESIDENT EVIL 4, here’s yet another variation of Leon Kennedy for you to look for. Based on Leon’s unlockable R.P.D. Uniform he wore in RESIDENT EVIL 2, the figure features a newly sculpted torso, arms, hands and hair, along with new deco featuring the R.P.D. logo. Leon will also sport a Riot Gun rifle, along with other weapons and grenades.

So as you can see, NECA looks to own this summer even more, since they’re also releasing the next series of figures in their Cult Classics line, as well as more DEVIL’S REJECTS figures. Time for a loan…
