The Purge meets Heathers in new Assassination Nation trailer

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

Writer/director Sam Levinson's violent, tongue-in-cheek satire ASSASSINATION NATION will be hosting a screening at this year's Toronto International Film Festival on September 11th, and then is all set to hit theaters September 21st. And today we have an all-new trailer for the film to share with you guys for your viewing pleasure.

You can check it out below and then make sure to let us know what you think! Personally, I'm digging what I'm seeing from the film thus far and find it to be a delightful mixture of, as the trailer puts it, THE PURGE meets HEATHERS. That sounds like a winning combination to me and I say bring it on!

Written and directed by Sam Levinson the movie follows:

High school senior Lily and her group of friends live in a haze of texts, posts, selfies and chats just like the rest of the world. So, when an anonymous hacker starts posting details from the private lives of everyone in their small town, the result is absolute madness leaving Lily and her friends questioning whether they'll live through the night.

The film stars Odessa Young, Suki Waterhouse, Hari Nef, Abra, Anika Noni Rose, Colman Domingo, Maude Apatow, with Bill Skarsgård, Joel McHale and Bella Thorne. The movie will be hosting a screening at this year's Toronto International Film Festival on September 11th, and then is all set to hit theaters September 21st.
