Warner Bros. Pictures has slated two untitled New Line Cinema horror films for 2016, but have yet to reveal what those films could be. Let the speculation begin!
Jeff Sneider of The Wrap took to Twitter to dole out the news that New Line would be bringing us two new horror flicks next year, one scheduled to hit on January 29, 2016 and the other penciled in for September 9, 2016. We've known for a while that their hit THE CONJURING would be getting three spinoff films, including the upcoming ANNABELLE, which is set to haunt theaters on October 3. Could one of these announced dates be another CONJURING spinoff?
With THE CONJURING 2 currently being penned by Carey Hayes and Chad Hayes and penciled down for release on October 23, 2015, we know that the folks at WB/New Line are still eager to tap the Warren Files for potential films, so it's easy to speculate that at least one of these unnamed films to be released next year is another spinoff of THE CONJURING. Early test screenings for ANNABELLE have proved to be positive so could we possibly be seeing a sequel to that film? Who knows? All I can say is that I'm stoked for more horror from New Line and will gladly take what I can get.
We'll keep you posted on news regarding these films as we hear it.
