The Purge Election Year Frank Grillo James DeMonaco

The satire of the PURGE films has gone from background noise in the original to just plain screaming in your face, even from the title. THE PURGE: ELECTION YEAR is the third entry in the franchise, and the intensely politicized horror-thriller flick is furthering its commitment to heavy-handed but delightfully bold commentary with these six new posters, each featuring the twisted masks created from iconic American images. You can check them all out below!

Written and directed by THE PURGE creator James DeMonaco, ELECTION YEAR has the following synopsis:

It’s been two years since Leo Barnes (Grillo) stopped himself from a regrettable act of revenge on Purge Night.  Now serving as head of security for Senator Charlie Roan (Mitchell), his mission is to protect her in a run for president and survive the annual ritual that targets the poor and innocent.  But when a betrayal forces them onto the streets of D.C. on the one night when no help is available, they must stay alive until dawn… or both be sacrificed for their sins against the state.

Grillo's co-stars include Elizabeth Mitchell, Mykelti Williamson, Raymond J. Barry, and Edwin Hodge.

Universal will be releasing the Blumhouse/Platinum Dunes production into theatres on July 1st.
