Sunshine site on!

Danny Boyle’s film SUNSHINE has had it’s official website launched thanks to Fox Searchlight Pictures. After heading to the site and checking it out for myself I gotta say it’s a little cluttered. Don’t get me wrong, all the images I’ve seen from the movie thus far are astounding, and therefore all the images on the website are visually pleasing as well. But the site itself is a bit clunky with too many links to too many different things.

With all that being said, I can’t wait to see this thing. In the “photo” section of the website, there is this awesome pic of one of the characters being sillouetted by the sun as they stare right at it; it’s way cool. Another cool thing on the site is the production diary videos that they have set up, and there are a bunch too. If you have some time, it’s worth checking out.

The plot breakdown from the site goes a little something like this: “…50 years from now the Sun is dying. It is no longer providing the energy and the light that mankind needs to survive on Earth. The entire global community pools its resources to send a mission into space to deliver a bomb to reignite the part of the Sun that is failing. Our story concerns the eight astronauts and scientists who lead this mission. On their journey towards the Sun the crew stumble upon the ship that was sent on the same mission seven years previously, the Icarus I, drifting in space. From this point on things start to go very wrong and it’s about how the crew react under the enormous pressure of their endeavor to save mankind.”

Not satisfied yet? Well then what are you waiting for? Go visit the Official Website.
