The push for SURROGATES is starting to pick up speed as we get closer to its September release date. Case in point is the brand new behind the scenes featurette that is now available for your viewing pleasure below. No longer are the days of waiting for the DVD to see stuff like this, now you can check it out before the flick even hits theaters!

The clip below features director Jonathan Mostow, along with experts in the areas of engineering, robotics and cybernetics, explain how the themes of surrogacy depicted in the film might be a reality in the very near future.

Yeah, that’s not scary… that’s not scary at all. While I wish I could clone myself some days, I don’t think I’d want to surrogate myself, and really… cloning myself would probably be a bad idea. I’m pretty sure I’d hate the a-hole.

Starring Bruce Willis, Radha Mitchell, James Cromwell, and Ving Rhames, SURROGATES goes a little something like this: People are living their lives remotely from the safety of their own homes via robotic surrogates—sexy, physically perfect mechanical representations of themselves. It’s an ideal world where crime, pain, fear and consequences don’t exist. When the first murder in years jolts this utopia, FBI agent Greer (BRUCE WILLIS) discovers a vast conspiracy behind the surrogate phenomenon and must abandon his own surrogate, risking his life to unravel the mystery.
