The full synopsis for Neil Blomkamp’s sci-fi romp Elysium is finally here!

Well it’s about time! We first heard about Neil Blomkamp’s ELYSIUM way back in December 2010. That’s a year and a half ago people. And only now are we finally getting a look at this thing’s synopsis! Hot damn that took a while. You know what they say though, good things come to those who wait. Right? We’ll be the judge of that! Drum roll please….. Check out ELYSIUM’s rundown:

In the year 2159 two classes of people exist: the very wealthy who live on a pristine man-made space station called Elysium, and the rest, who live on an overpopulated, ruined Earth. Secretary Rhodes, a hard the government official, will stop at nothing to enforce anti-immigration laws and preserve the luxurious lifestyle of the citizens of Elysium. That doesn’t stop the people of Earth from trying to get in, by any means they can. When unlucky Max is backed into a corner, he agrees to take on a daunting mission that if successful will not only save his life, but could bring equality to these polarized worlds.

So what do you guys think? Worth the wait? While it’s nice to finally know what ELYSIUM is about the synopsis alone doesn’t really sell me. Personally I’ll be waiting for more goods from this one before I get too excited but it’s definitely looking good!

The sci-fi film stars an all-star cast that includes Matt Damon, Sharlto Copley, Wagner Moura, Diego Luna, Jodie Foster, Alice Braga (below) and William Fitchner. With a release date of March 1, 2013 already tapped I’m sure we can expect more from this one soon.
