Yet another director circling Preacher adaptation? DJ Caruso interested?

Last Updated on August 5, 2021

The last update we got on the long-awaited PREACHER adaptation came way back in September, when we heard that Oscar nominated director Darren Aronofsky may be interested in the project. Well Aronofsky is busy with THE WOLVERINE so we might have to make due with DJ Caruso.

At least that’s the going word coming from the guys over at /Film. Apparently they’ve got an inside source telling them that Caruso is in talks and his signing on all depends on how his I AM NUMBER FOUR performs at the box office later this month.

The history behind this one is a giant mixing pot of names including Sam Mendes, Joe Carnahan, Robert Rodriguez, John August, Darren Aronofsky, Kevin Smith and Mark Steven Johnson. So how do you feel about them finally landing on Caruso? If that is indeed the case of course…

Preacher follows a distressed man of the cloth named Jesse Custer who goes on a trip to literally find God after he was possessed and killed his entire congregation and destroyed his church. Custer joined in his road trip by old fame Tulip and a hard-drinking Irish vampire named Cassidy.

As always we’ll be keeping our eyes and ears open for more on the long-awaited project so check back soon for updates!
