Has Aaron Taylor-Johnson finally signed on to play Quicksilver in The Avengers: Age of Ultron?

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

Aaron Taylor-Johnson has been linked to Quicksilver/Pietro Maximoff in THE AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON for months now, but there hasn't been an announcement from Marvel saying the role is his. Even after meeting with the studio and director Joss Whedon, there was no news on if he had actually signed on or not.

According to Latino-Review, he has. The site is reporting Aaron-Taylor Johnson has agreed to star in THE AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON. No word from Marvel yet, but if true there could be an official announcement made very soon. Yesterday Elizabeth Olsen was pretty much confirmed to play Scarlet Witch by Samuel L. Jackson, and it sounds like Marvel is getting all their ducks in a row for their next Avengers film.

As I said yesterday when the Elizabeth Olsen news surfaced, it's going to be quite interesting to see how the characters will be used in THE AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON. They haven't always been on the side of right in the comics, so will the brother-sister duo be villains or "misunderstood" early in the film and later join The Avengers? Will there be an event the forces the two to pick a side? Regardless, I'm fascinated to see how Joss Whedon will use both of these characters.

THE AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON will hit theaters on May 1st, 2014.
