I Want That: New Star Wars: Rebels LEGO sets and action figures!

Last Updated on August 5, 2021

Yep, it’s another Lego set (and a few action figures)!

Hey, it’s not my fault if Lego keeps coming out with cool shit! Toy Fair 2014 takes place this weekend, which promises to reveal a ton of super cool geek toys and merchandise and it wouldn’t be the same without some STAR WARS reveals. The only difference is now we’re actually getting new characters and vehicles that are new to the STAR WARS universe. There have been some Clone Wars themed sets already, but now we’re venturing into a whole new arena, which is pretty cool. The sets reveal new characters, including:

The Ghost” set ($89.99) has 929 pieces and features the Ghost and its heroes, including the cowboy Jedi Kanan Jarrus, Twi’lek crew member Hera Syndulla and alien Zeb Orrelios, plus an Imperial Stormtrooper. Fans of the Millennium Falcon will dig the Ghost and its dual cockpits, rotating turret, ejecting space pods and a pair of spring-loaded shooters.

With 234 pieces, the “Phantom” set ($24.99) contains the Phantom ship — with folding wings and a detachable cockpit — that can be combined with the LEGO Ghost as well as mini-figs of cadet pilot Ezra Bridger and the grouchy astromech droid Chopper.

The action figures include a “‘Saga Legends'” line of 3¼-inch toys arriving in the fall that features Chopper and a pair of dudes with lightsabers, Kanan and the Empire’s villainous Jedi hunter, the Inquisitor.”

I’m excited to see some new characters and sets for STAR WARS, even if it’s just for a new animated series. There’s a kind of obsessive glee that comes with new STAR WARS figures, etc. and although many of us have learned our lesson with the stacks of EPISODE 1 toys sitting in our basement, there’s still the possibility of getting the “Force Fever” and grabbing up the new goods as they drop, especially when that little known indie pic, STAR WARS: EPISODE VII comes out. Can you imagine the toy nerd frenzy that awaits that? See you in line!

Both Star Wars: Rebels Lego sets hit store shelves on August 1, 2014 with the action figures to follow in the fall.
