A new poster and trailer for... Titanic?

11.16.2011

James Cameron is continuing his obsession with 3D by bringing back his little indie film TITANIC back to theaters with one added dimension, hoping to perhaps make back a little bit of its production budget.

The revamped film will hit theaters on April 6th, 2012, and they're created this appropriately sappy poster and trailer to remind people that it's on the way. Cameron's message in the trailer is a little scary- he thanks us for "staying true to Titanic". I'll never cheat on you, Leo!

Apologies in advance for putting that goddamn Celine Dion song back in your head.

God the CGI looks terrible! I have never actually seen this movie and this is not making that day come any sooner.

Bleeeechhhhh

I would love to see anything on the big screen again by Cameron EXCEPT his last two shit-fests. Even PIRANHA II would be a better choice.

I just can not see how 3D would benefit this film, it's a spectacle of sets and visuals yes but also the characters. I don't see the need for this new technology but I always let a man be. I'll always love Mr. Cameron

The best thing that happened during Titanic's showing in our local cinema back in '97 was that the IRA blew up the cinema. Seriously.
Anyone who says it's the movie that most deserves to be re-released on the big screen really needs to watch more movies.

The only really good movie by Cameron as well as the biggest event in movie history (back in 1997). Can't wait to see it on the big screen again. Probably THE one movie which deserves it the most (to be seen on a big screen).
Also one of the best movie songs ever.
Don't need 3d, but oh well.
Wished there were more movies being re-released (2d or 3d) in theatres.

Wow

Everyone is complaining that this is a money grabbing adventure.... I don't think it is... I honestly believe that James or Jim or whatever you call him is trying to perfect the film so that it can fit his vision. How hard is it to respect a director that wants to revisit his excellent film? It was fantastic when it was released, and it will be just as fantastic when it comes out in 3D. I, for one, would love to take this journey one more time on the big screen. Think of it as a gift to fans

But I will take James Cameron's Arnie movies over his "Materpieces" Avatar and Titanic any day of the week.

I agree. I miss the Cameron who made edgy action/sci-fi films. I personally believe that Terminator 2 is Cameron's true masterpiece (and one of the most flawless action films ever produced).

Here we go again... Oh F you Cameron for giving us the chance to see your awesome movie on the big screen again, how dare you, a-hole.
If you don't wanna see it don't. If you don't wanna see it in 3D dont.
So simple, but you plebs keep on whining on.
And if Cameron was only doing this for the money he would ahve retired 20 years ago, you dumb fucks.
Also, I think Nolan's cock is almost dry, so off to it boys! Yum yum...

I don't get the point of this being released in 3D. I didn't get the point of The Lion King being released in 3D either, but look how that turned out. If Titanic does good at the box office again, then good for it, it was a fantastic film. But I won't be seeing it or Star Wars in 3D.

I won't watch it...

but then again I hope the teens watch it. This is 10 times a better film than anything that passes for a romance these days. Think Twilight.

I enjoyed Avatar and appreciated Titanic but when 2 sequels were announced for Avatar and when it was announced that Titanic was going to be re-released in 3D, it just confirmed that James Cameron can be a bit of a greedy douche. Titanic in 3D??? Why??? 3D is a cheap gimmick, especially when it's converted and not actually filmed in 3D. And didn't Avatar feel complete to anybody else? Was it really crying out for a sequel by the end of the film?

But we'll get to see Kate Winslet's boobs in 3D for 3 seconds!!!

I guess Cameron's boner for everything 3D is still raging.

Titanic robbed L.A. Confidential of an Oscar win...so to this day I still loathe the film..3D won't change that.

Jeez

I do highly enjoy this movie, despite all the criticism it gets, but I agree with anomaly70 it's not needed in 3D, it made more than enough money in 2D upon initial release, there really is no reason to convert it. If Cameron wants more money, just re-release it just as it is, it will still make gobs of the green.

I like the film, but 3D isn't needed. Just give me the film on Blu-ray already Cameron, along with True Lies and Abyss. Will Lucas and Cameron ever give us something new?

I love the Titanic. It's a truly epic film. Most 3D sucks. Avatar and Jackass 3D were the only 2 films that were truly amazing in 3D. (i know, lol)

With Cameron 3Dizing his baby, this will be a treat...

Not seeing this. This is just james camerons way of adding more money to the 600 million that it made in the united states. This movie will then be back to number one which is what he wants. didnt see it when it came out in 1998, wont see it now...

You got your dates wrong. Titanic sailed on the 10th, struck the iceberg on the 14th and sank on the 15th.
