Rumor: A preview for the Batman v Superman trailer is coming this Thursday

04.14.2015

We had previously reported that the first trailer for BATMAN V SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE would be attached to MAD MAX: FURY ROAD, however it seems as though we may be seeing it sooner than we thought. Both El Mayimbe and Collider have reported that we should see a quick preview of said trailer this Thursday courtesy of Zack Synder who will be posting it on his Twitter. How quick will that preview be? Five seconds. Lovely.

El Mayimbe let out another surprising reveal, which was not confirmed by Collider, which states that the trailer will screen in front of AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON. Imagine that, Marvel and DC getting along.

Should this rumour pan out, I suspect we'll find out more on Thursday at 9am PST when we could see five seconds of a trailer. Groan. The teaser for the teaser is something that annoys me to no end but I know I'll be right there with the rest of you, watching it and cursing my lack of self control.

El Mayimbe also mentions that you'll be able to sign up to view the full trailer in a theater on April 20th. Didn't STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS attempt something like that last year which lead to the trailer being released online soon after? Speaking of Star Wars, Thursday at 9am also happens to be a little before the STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS panel at Star Wars Celebration; it's going to be a busy day.

AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON will hit theaters on May 1, 2015 while MAD MAX: FURY ROAD won't arrive until May 15, 2015; a chance to see one what could be one of the biggest trailers of the year two weeks earlier than we last thought? I want to believe.

Shut up and play the hits aka Give Us What We Want and Stop Teasing

Look, obviously the films are gonna come out no matter what. We will get plenty of trailers and posters and possibly even clips. Eventually. However, teasing this stuff so far in advance or having virtually no press are both kinda pointless and a really disturbing trend in terms of the marketing schemes for Hollywood. The whole J.J. Abrams Secret Project schtick and "like you've never seen [insert character you've seen multiple versions of already]" is just getting out of hand.

So after seeing the trailer, should I lower my expectations for the actual film? I feel that would have prevented some of disappointment from Man of Steel. If only the movie was as good as those trailers.

No, I'm with anomaly - the third MoS trailer knocked it out of the park and then some. I went in to the movie with astronomically high expectations...off the back of said trailer. Alas...I came out disappointed (though admittedly, the first half of the movie was living up to it). Following my experiences of this trailer and the one for Iron Man 3, I've learned to put a cap on my going overboard on something now.

Snyder makes movies just for the trailers. Just like Michael Bay. At least that is guaranteed to be good.

The thing I find interesting is that the trailer is attached to Age of Ultron. What does everyone think of this?

Nothing new really, TDKR was attached to the first Avengers. I think cinemas should have a warning about bringing adult diapers. Star Wars, BvS and Age of Ultron. Wow

They're probably frightened to wait.....

Considering how bad the pirating and leaks have gotten lately. It happened to Avengers, so I'm sure people were actively trying to do the same to BvS.
