Bryan Singer defends Apocalypse’s costume plus new X-Men pictures

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

Earlier this month, the look of Oscar Isaac's Apocalypse was revealed via Entertainment Weekly, and if you thought it looked pretty horrendous, you were not alone. Inevitable comparisons were made to the Power Rangers and it looks as though word as reached the director's ears. Bryan Singer recently spoke with ScreenCrush about the look of the costume and how it compares to the comics.

Bryan Singer on Apocalypse's costume:

He'll be very similar to images in the comic. There's obviously something very futuristic and yet ancient to the design of both his costume and his physicality.

Frankly, it seems like he's skirting the issue. Whether or not it looks like the one from the comics is irrelevant, in my opinion. What does matter is if he'll end up being a villain we can take seriously. Judging from the pictures, I'm guessing not. Speaking of, some new pictures have hit from the upcoming X-MEN: APOCALYPSE and while a few look similar to what we've seen, they are high-res and offer a good look at Jennifer Lawrence rocking that 1980's style! Loving it!

X-MEN: APOCALYPSE will open on May 27, 2016.
