Yesterday we detailed some of the exclusives that theaters will be offering in terms of STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS, and now you can get your first look at one of the posters. Here we have the first of four IMAX posters for THE FORCE AWAKENS being offered by AMC Theaterse. You can nab this nifty poster (while supplies last) by purchasing an IMAX 3D ticket on December 20th. Take a look!

If the art style seems familiar to you, that's because it's by Dan Mumford, who has had more than his fair share of experience designing art for classic films. You can check out his site here for more of his work, where he's done everything from ALIENS to The Walking Dead.

Also worth taking note of are some crowd reactions to last night's trailer. While it's hard to top how Daisy Ridley and John Boyega reacted on their Instagram accounts, it's still fun to join in on the excitement of folks who love STAR WARS just as much as you do. Suffice it to say, there are more than a few jaws hitting the floor!

STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS will open on December 18, 2015.

How long did it take you to get your tickets last night?

Cool poster, but...

Can we talk about the absolute blind faith people have in these movies already??? So many artists and cosplayers are trying to cash in on these new characters before they've even seen the movies. I just can't help but think about what it would be like if the prequels were being released today, and how many people would have mud on their faces if they were dressing up like Jar jar Binks

Your comparing a droid to Jar Jar? Jar Jar sucked balls at first sight sorry if you didn't see that and got fooled but that's not our fault.

I'm not sure how old you are, but this is exactly the same as when the prequels were being released. So if they were released today, it'd be exactly the same. Blaming people for getting excited about something is just silly.

Not complaining, just thinking out loud... But I'm in my 30s, and have done plenty of "fan art" in my career as an illustrator, I just usually try to make sure I see the movie/TV show first to make sure I 1. actually like it and 2. It's worthy of fan art. This had nothing to do with the above poster, or BB-8(that's a virtual slam dunk) but I'm holding out to see if these characters are worthy of my time and energy, while a lot of artists have just jumped on the bandwagon

Reminds me of that movie Fanboys and the scene where Seth Rogen's character shows off his Jar Jar Binks tattoo. "This guy's gonna be the shit."
