Green Lantern trailer to play in front of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows next month

10.09.2010

Here's a quick bit of good news for your guys this weekend!

According to DC Comics writer and Chief Creative Officer Geoff Johns, the first official film trailer for GREEN LANTERN will be shown in front of Warner Bros' HARRY POTTER AND THE DEATHLY HALLOWS: PART 1, which hits theaters on November 19th. The news was announced yesterday at the New York Comic Con which is running right now throughout the weekend.

I guess this also means that the GREEN LANTERN trailer won't be seen in 3D, seeing as how it was just announced that DEATHLY HALLOWS would be a 2D only affair (thank goodness).

GREEN LANTERN opens everywhere June 17, 2011.

Synopsis: In a universe as vast as it is mysterious, a small but powerful force has existed for centuries. Protectors of peace and justice, they are called the Green Lantern Corps. A brotherhood of warriors sworn to keep intergalactic order, each Green Lantern wears a ring that grants him superpowers. But when a new enemy called Parallax threatens to destroy the balance of power in the Universe, their fate and the fate of Earth lie in the hands of their newest recruit, the first human ever selected: Hal Jordan.

Hal is a gifted and cocky test pilot, but the Green Lanterns have little respect for humans, who have never harnessed the infinite powers of the ring before. But Hal is clearly the missing piece to the puzzle, and along with his determination and willpower, he has one thing no member of the Corps has ever had: humanity. With the encouragement of fellow pilot and childhood sweetheart Carol Ferris (Blake Lively), if Hal can quickly master his new powers and find the courage to overcome his fears, he may prove to be not only the key to defeating Parallax…he will become the greatest Green Lantern of all.

It's still possible for the FILM to be in 3D.......

It's still possible because George Merchan ONLY said that he guesses the TRAILER won't be seen in 3D. He didn't say the FILM won't be in 3D. Sadly this article didn't say that the film won't be in 3D.....

3D is really fun when done right. Just see Resident Evil as an example. I just don't see it working for a movie you have to take seriously like Harry Potter.

Umm the news is a bit innacurate .. they arent releasing in 3d in conjunction with the 2d release as they dont want to rush the conversion process. The 3d version will probably be pushed til sometime right before part 2 comes out in july.

3D dying off already?

Inception proved that 3D isn't necessary, Harry Potter won't be in 3D, maybe the Hollywood trend is slowly starting to die off. And oh yeah, I can't wait to see the trailer!!!

Antarius.....Avatar's 3D was totally different then the 3D in other films. Avatar didn't have things flying at the screen and what not. It only made it seem like you were in the film. That the film was surrounding you.
