After she amazed everyone with her performance in TRUE GRIT, Hailee Steinfeld has really started getting out there. She's set to co-star in the adaptation of the hugely popular scifi novel ENDER'S GAME, and is currently filming ROMEO AND JULIET in Italy. Now she's in talks to star in the next music-themed film from the director of ONCE.

CAN A SONG SAVE YOUR LIFE? is gearing up for its production in June and has the leads locked down, Mark Ruffalo and Scarlett Johansson, straight out of their team-up in THE AVENGERS. Today THR is reporting that they might be rounding out the cast with Steinfeld, who would play Ruffalo's daughter.

The synopsis- Seduced by dreams of making it in the big city, Gretta (Johansson) and her long-time boyfriend move to New York to pursue their passion for music. She’s heartbroken when he dumps her for the fame and fortune of a big solo contract, leaving Gretta all on her own. Her world takes a turn for the better when a down-on-his-luck record producer (Ruffalo) stumbles upon her singing in a local bar and is immediately captivated by her raw talent and inspiring authenticity - they may be each other’s last chance to turn their lives around. Somewhere between friendship and their love of music, the two strangers strike a chord that captures the hearts of everyone around them, proving that every great story has its own soundtrack.

It's always fascinating to watch the career of a young actor and it's great to see Steinfeld getting such varied roles. Not that she could really get pigeonholed in Westerns, but still!

Call me a surly scallywag but I didn't care at all for Once and I don't understand the abundance of love it got.
The only reason "I'm hip to this news" is 'cause of Hailee Steinfeld.

You didn't care for Once because you hate music and things that don't suck. I get it, bro.
