James Gunn polishes off the script for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

Once GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY became such a surprise hit, there was little doubt that we'd be seeing Peter Quill (Chris Pratt), Gamora (Zoe Saldana), Drax (Dave Bautista), Rocket (Bradley Cooper), and Groot (Vin Diesel) again. With production on GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 2 set to kick off next month, it's time for the actors to finally read up on the intergalatic shenanigans they'll be getting up to in the sequel. James Gunn recently completed his final draft on the film and he offered up a very brief glimpse at the fruits of his labour before sending it off to the actors.

Coming to you presently, Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista (Batista), Michael Rooker, Sean Gunn, Vin Diesel.

Before you start wondering whether Bradley Cooper and Karen Gillan were left off Gunn's list on purpose, it's merely because they don't have accounts on Facebook. James Gunn also revealed on Twitter that casting for the sequel is "almost totally done" and that he had a leave a few names off his Facebook list as they haven't officially been announced yet. One of those names may very well be Kurt Russell, who is said to be up for the role of Peter Quill's mysterious father.

GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 2 is set for a May 5, 2017 release.
