Keanu in Bebop

With turns in the MATRIX trilogy, THE DAY THE EARTH STOOD STILL, CONSTANTINE, the BILL AND TED films, THE DEVIL’S ADVOCATE, A SCANNER DARKLY and JOHNNY MNEMONIC, one would think that Keanu Reeves is just so done with all the fantasy, sci-fi, supernatural stuff. But apparently this guy’s a masochist and needs/seeks the ever-elusive approval of fanboys, somehow, some way.

His latest attempt will be as Spike Spiegel, the adventurous bounty hunter traveling through space in 2071 in COWBOY BEBOP, an adaptation of the popular Japanese anime TV series of the same name. Why the horrid name you ask? The film follows the adventures of a group of bounty hunters traveling on their spaceship, the Bebop. Couldn’t they take a hint from the Millenium Falcon and just name this thing The Century Eagle or something? Then we could call this film Cowboy Eagle, instead of COWBOY BEBOP. Sigh, if only we lived in a perfect world.
