Leonardo DiCaprio and Sean Penn are being eyed for The Revenant

If I were making a film and had a couple of decent male roles to cast, I’d certainly consider offering parts to Leonardo DiCaprio and Sean Penn.

It looks like director Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu (BIUTIFUL) would also love to cast DiCaprio and Penn in his next film, an adaptation of Michael Punke’s novel, THE REVENANT. Apparently both actors have already met with Inarritu to discuss the film.

Here’s some info on the roles: “DiCaprio is being courted to play 1820s frontiersman Hugh Glass, who hires on to a fur trapping expedition and is so badly mauled by a bear that he’s unable to be transported back from the wilderness. He hires two men to stay behind. Expecting him to die, they rob and abandon him instead, leaving him helpless. When he recovers, he is hellbent on revenge. Inarritu wants Penn to play one of the men who left him for dead.”

If all goes well, the project will start filming next fall.
