Over the weekend, MAD MAX: FURY ROAD composer Junkie XL (real name Tom Holkenborg) announced on his Twitter that he'll be providing the score for Tim Miller's DEADPOOL. There will now be two comic book movies opening next year featuring music by the Dutch composer and producer, with the other one being his collaboration with Hans Zimmer for Zack Snyder's BATMAN V SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE.

Junkie XL's other film composing credits include 300: RISE OF AN EMPIRE, this year's BLACK MASS and RUN ALL NIGHT, and the upcoming POINT BREAK remake from director Ericson Core. I absolutely loved his MAD MAX: FURY ROAD score, and I'm very curious to know what his plans are for the DEADPOOL score.

DEADPOOL will be in theaters on February 12, 2016.

Mad Max had a score? Seriously the music was so subtle, except for guitar dude, that you could hardly call it a score, but it worked wonderfully. Sadly I doubt Bats V. Sups will be as subtle.

Boo for my fellow Dutchman. I remember being excited when he just started out scoring video games and movies, but he's been churning out seriously ho-hum music. He should take a cue from The Chemical Brothers and The Dust Brothers.

Yay for my fellow dutchman!

And deservedly so, the guy has been making outside of the box music for decades now and his score for Mad Ax was awesome!
