Michael Bay makes a reality TV series with exploding contestants, maybe

By now we have a pretty good idea what gets the juices flowing for director/destructor Michael Bay: action, explosions and hot chicks with tight bodies.

Some of those will undoubtedly factor into “One Way Out”, an upcoming reality TV series that Bay is producing. Deadline says the project is currently being pitched to networks as an action-adventure series described as “a game with no rules” and a cross between an extreme “Survivor”, “The Mole” and “The Amazing Race.”

That’s right: This shit just got real. Or as the chief detonator himself says: “Combining unique twists, death-defying challenges, and stunning visuals, we are reinventing the genre, showing just how far people will go when they are stripped of their bare necessities and forced to do whatever it takes to survive.”

Whether that takes grenades, flamethrowers, swarmer missiles and countless FMJ rounds remains to be seen, but I remain hopeful.

An added twist: the contestants “have secret pasts that they must keep hidden, setting the stage for an intense game of trust and betrayal.” How that will work is anyone’s guess, but the show creators are insisting it will result in “a climactic showdown”, quite probably with whirling camera shots and 3-second edits.

Meanwhile, Bay is busy making TRANSFORMERS 3 with Megan Fox, Shia LaBeouf and trillions of texture-mapped polygons.
