Mister Sinister confirmed for Wolverine 3 plus Deadpool 2 tease

For those of you who stayed until the end of the credits for X-MEN: APOCALYPSE, you were treated to a brief scene featuring some of the aftermath of Wolverine's slaughter at Alkali Lake. Most notably, we witnessed a mysterious character take a sample of Wolverine's DNA, placing it in a briefcase that belonged to the Essex Corp. This company, for those not in the know, is owned by Nathaniel Essex AKA Mister Sinister.

Mister Sinister is a scientific genius and in the comics, has a slew of super powers thanks to the fact he he can manipulate his body on a cellular level. How far they'll take it in the movie is unknown, but they certainly have some options! The good folks over at CinemaBlend's have already given a listen to the X-MEN: APOCALYPSE commentary featuring producer Simon Kinberg and director Bryan Singer. In it, they reveal two very interesting tidbits. The first, being that Mister Sinister will actually be making his appearance in the still-UNTITLED WOLVERINE SEQUEL. The second, is that the original plan was to include a DEADPOOL 2 teaser! See what Singer had to say about it below!

We did a tag that we really couldn't do, which I can stick on the DVD. It would have been for Deadpool, and unfortunately it wouldn't have had the right costume for the character they're going to add to Deadpool [2]. I don't want to give that away.

Unfortunately, it doesn't look like that teaser actually ended up on the Blu-ray/DVD, but one wonders which new character they were set to reveal to get people excited for DEADPOOL 2. At this point, it's arguable that folks are already looking forward to Wolverine's solo film and DEADPOOL 2 more so than another "core entry." I can't blame them, and if this truly is Hugh Jackman's last turn as Weapon X, I hope Mister Sinister really gives him some great obstacles to overcome! Word is that Richard E. Grant would fit that bill, but I suppose we'll find out soon enough!

The UNTITLED WOLVERINE SEQUEL is set to open in theaters on March 3, 2017, while DEADPOOL 2 will arrive in January 12, 2018.

Old Man Logan

In a perfect world Marvel would have legal rights to all of their properties and we would watch a movie where Wolverine is fighting Hulks offspring who brutally killed and ate his family. Oh well, maybe in my next life then... LoL

I'v always envisioned Wolverine 3 to look like Old Man Logan and have the Mad Max vibe. Logan battles two enemies just like in the comics, only this time around it should be Sinister and Sabertooth, saving Sabertooth for the final act as all out brother's rampage.

Does this mean Wolverine 3 will have a direct connection to a future X-Men movie?

I'm excited to finally see my favorite X-Men villain in live form and especially going up against Wolverine, but I'm just hoping that the overall quality of this film is amazing since this is Jackman's last time donning the claws and would love to see him go out on top.

And I really hope that the character design for Mr. Sinister is faithful from the comics and not too much like they did with Apocalypse. But at this point, I probably shouldn't get my hopes up.

This makes sense on what I said in the last article. If in fact X-23, a clone of Wolverine is that little girl in the photos. Then it would make sense that Mr.Sinister would have created her. My hopes that Omega Red would have shown up is out the window, but I still hope we still get a good send off to Sabertooth in this.

Shouldn't Sinister be kept for Jean and Cyclops in X-Men? It's not like Wolverine doesn't have a lot of villains they could use.

Sinister should be saved for the X-Men, I was really hoping we'd see Omega Red on Jackman's last go.

I've seen that Mr. Sinister photo a thousand times, and every time, I think it's a manip of Channing Tatum.
