Oscar nominee Demian Bechir joins Machete Kills, takes lead in William Friedkin’s Trapped

Last Updated on August 5, 2021

Y’all see Demian Bechir in A BETTER LIFE? Dude supposedly kills it!

In fact, the Oscar nominated Mexican actor (seen above) has joined bagged himself a pair of new gigs, both with well renowned directors. First up is MACHETE KILLS, which begins filming in Texas next month. No telling who Bechir will play in the film, but he joins Danny Trejo, Mel Gibson, Michelle Rodriguez and possibly Jessica Alba.

The new film finds Machete recruited by the U.S. Government for a mission which would be impossible for any mortal man. Machete must battle his way through Mexico to take down a madman cartel leader and an eccentric billionaire arms dealer who has hatched a plan to spread war across the planet with a weapon in space. Machete takes on an army in an effort to dismantle a plan for global anarchy.

Mel Gibson is set to co-star as Luther Voz, a cunning arms dealer and death merchant who aims to spread war across the planet by launching a missile.

On another tip, perhaps not so AITH appropriate, Bechir is set to play an Israeli operative in William Friedkin’s new indie-thriller TRAPPED. No further details on the project are available, but if they prove to be genre-tinged as we learn of them, we’ll keep you posted. TRAPPED shoots early next year.

The Alba!
