Paul Giamatti may be joining Colin Farrell and Marion Cotillard in David Cronenberg’s Cosmopolis

While the finishing touches are being put on director David Cronenberg’s A DANGEROUS METHOD, his next film, COSMOPOLIS, continues taking cool and interesting shape.

The Playlist is reporting today that awesome guy Paul Giamatti (THE GOON) is in talks to join Cronenberg’s adaptation of Don DeLillo’s book about a 28-year old newly married Manhattan billionaire traveling around in a limo who “cheats on his wife, is pursued by a stalker, gets attacked by a protester and gradually loses his entire fortune over the course of a single day.”

Colin Farrell (THE WAY BACK) is currently attached to the lead role of the billionaire while the lovely Marion Cotillard (CONTAGION) will play his wife. No word yet on what role Giamatti would play. The good news, though, is that this movie seems to still be happening. For me, any new Cronenberg is a very good thing.

A DANGEROUS METHOD, with Viggo Mortensen, Michael Fassbender, and Keira Knightley, is currently in post-production and will be released sometime next year (debuting possibly at Cannes?).
