R. Zombie twittering

Update: New picture added.

Rob Zombie

It was only a matter of time, really, but horror musician turned director Rob Zombie is officially twittering. He just recently started so he doesn't have a lot of "tweets" up as yet and the only thing he's mentioned about his current work on the upcoming sequel HALLOWEEN 2 is the following:

Editing away at H2. Laurie Strode in the ER. bloody mess. Wayne Toth out did himself on this one. Nasty and very real.

Which we've kinda seen already. In any case, we're sure to see some exclusives or good candid shots come out of here too so those of you itching to know more about the new hobo chic, flesh-skinned sociopath Mike Myers, check back from time to time. Myers starts offing people on August 28th.

HALLOWEEN 2

Extra Tidbit: What Zombie should do is get Mike Myers twittering.

Don't Hate

I don't understand why so many people think that Rob Zombie is a terrible writer/director. Granted House of 1000 Corpses was a little cheesy/cartoony, but The Devil's Rejects was the film that jump started his career. The film wasn't as crazy/sadistic as people make it out to be. There have been far worse movies that take violence way too far.

Rob did an excellent job with Halloween and making it his own with a few classic bits for the fans of the original.

But now he's no longer

But now he's no longer obligated to "remake" anything. He's laid the ground work with these characters and now he can do whatever he wants.

And it's about time there's been a Halloween film where it shows the real repercussions in society after a brutal massacre. We can see what kind of struggles our main character is dealing with post-halloween night and I'm stoked to see it!

Rob Zombie you have my full support!

In My Humble Opinion

I think Rob Zombie's biggest problem is his writing. If he would ever turn the reins over to a real "writer" and simply direct, I think his movies would blow people away. Most of his dialogue is pretty cheesy, which may be what he's going for if he's paying homage to the old-school horror films, but I just don't think they work now. This was the biggest problem I had with House of 1000 Corpses. Visually, I couldn't ask for more, but the dialogue was pathetic.

Who knows? Maybe I'm in the

*I'm still looking forward to H2 . . . the thing that keeps me going is that it will never be worse than Hallo-busta-rhymes*

I actually liked Zombie's first Halloween. Decent first half, then everything kinda fell to $h!t. But still, it was different. Hated House Of 1000 Corpses, and Devil's Rejects was hard to watch. Pretty sadistic stuff. Worst part is they were pointless. Just characters going around torturing people and raping them and it's just some sick, sick
$h!t, seriously.

Unrelated stuff: I don't get the whole Twitter phase. Facebook, fine. MySpace (ugh) but fine. Friendster (ugh ugh) but fine.

WHO would wanna' know that, really? Or even if he's having noodle soup. Why would I care? Why SHOULD I care? And before you say I'm old, take note that I'm not even sure what 'old' means yet. Haven't been there, so yeah, I'm young and I don't get it.

This movie will suck like his last 3. Because he doesn't understand anything but hillbilly torture porn. Now he's stealing from Friday the 13th.

I'm kinda shocked people actually dig this guy's stuff. It's a lot of the same shit recycled with a different title. I caught the first half of Halloween, and I was very, very interested... until about the hour 10 minute mark.

It's not a remake

I'm tired of people saying that this is a remake. This just isn't true. The second half of the first one was the remake. Now, there are no holds barred. It's 100% Rob Zombie which I'm super-stoked about! The only thing that might come close to being similar to the second one is the hospital scene at the beginning of the film, but even Rob Zombie said that it's WAY different than Halloween 2 with Jamie Lee Curtis. Fear not friends, I truly believe that we are all in for a surprise come August.

I once thought this guy was going to be one of the most orginal directors to come out in a long time. Now he's doing remakes, not cool.
