Ready for a sneak peek at The Hobbit: Desolation of Smaug? Wait no longer!

Apr. 1, 2013by:

Did you get the chance to tune into Peter Jackson's live event last week for THE HOBBIT? If you did then you were privy to some sneak peek footage of the sequel, THE HOBBIT: THE DESOLATION OF SMAUG. Lucky for us and thanks to Warner Bros., Jackson got to share six-minutes of the live event that included said footage. All I have to say is: Evangeline Lilly!!! Of course there's other cool stuff there too, but I've been waiting for the Lilly reveal. And Stephen Fry!!!

Jackson starts out the Q&A with a fan the after special guests start in with their own questions. I won't give it away so you can enjoy it as much as I did.

This is what Jackson put on his Facebook page along with the peek:

Thanks to everyone who tuned into our Live Event last week. I've never done anything like that before, and I was pretty nervous. Hope it was ok. If you saw it, it was a pretty accurate picture of what life is like at the moment. Jabez and I sit in that editing room all day, every day, editing the second Hobbit movie, and we actually start on the third next week! A lot of that movie was shot nearly a year ago, so I'm looking forward to seeing it come alive, shot by shot in the cutting room. It's like assembling one of those complex 2000 piece jigsaw puzzles. For us, this is really the being of 2013, so I look forward to posting a bunch more stuff as we work through the year. I think that an edited version of the Live Event is being made available over at the official Hobbit site, and Warner Bros have kindly let me post a 6 min excerpt here, to give everyone who missed it a sense of what it was like.

So much for Peter's gastric bypass. He's put all the weight back on.

Star Wars 8 script....

He might have done that intentionally, but we can see star wars 8 script @4:50 to 4:51.
It could be true or April fools joke, but either ways i think he is a good choice.

I really enjoy these vlogs that Peter Jackson does. Also, I cannot wait for the Mirkwood scene. I recall when I was reading the book how much I couldn't wait to see it come to life on the big screen. AUJ was really entertaining, therefore I am more than excited to see DOS.

Perhaps Im in the minority here and maybe the reason I enjoyed it so much was due to lower expectations, but man did I enjoy The Hobbit AUJ. It was so nice to be back in Middle Earth. I loved the subplot involving Azog and Thorin. Badass. I was taken back at how much I enjoyed it. I had no interest in seeing it after so many negative reactions so I waited for the blu ray. Now I can't wait for DOS.

I'm no fan of 3D, but you should've seen it in 3D 48fps. It was beautiful.
Try to catch The Desolation of Smaug in this format. You won't be disappointed.

The middle movie is going to blow.

Nothing will be resolved, only more stupid anticlimactic battles will happen and the necromancer story will take all of 3 seconds to explain he is Sauron.

Does anyone give two craps about this film or anything Peter Jackson does anymore?

Well The Hobbit made over a billion dollars so I feel like plenty of people give "two craps."
