Rock & Sam J. are cops

100%

If you've been waiting for Dwayne "Once The Rock" Johnson to ditch the kiddies and team up with someone interesting, how about Sam Jackson?

How about Will Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg, too?

You got it. The Johnson/Jackson package is part of the comedy THE OTHER GUYS, playing a pair of "elite and cocky cops" who are the top dogs in their precinct. Ferrell and Wahlberg are the buffoonish second-rate detectives who (we can assume) will somehow inadvertently end up saving the day.

The movie starts shooting this week with Ferrell's ANCHORMAN, TALLADEGA NIGHTS and STEP BROTHERS director Adam McKay. Brit Steve Coogan (TROPIC THUNDER, Alan Partridge) will play the villain.

Extra Tidbit: This is fine, but will someone please bring Johnson back to action? There seems to be a tragic shortage of A-list ass-kickers.

I like it. First I was just expecting an odd-couple duo, but with competition like that this oughta be interesting.

Extra tidbit, I beg to differ (in no particular order)

1) Jason Statham
2) Clive Owen
3) Vin Diesel
4) Hugh Jackman
5) Christian Bale
6) Daniel Craig
7) Matt Damon
8) Thomas Jane
9) Ron Perlman
10) Gerard Butler

You might not like all them as actors, heck I don't even especially like all of them, but there's no doubt that they've each proven to be apt in action flicks.

There are also several other I'd include on that list even though they're not exactly A-Lists (yet), including Ray Park, Luke Goss, Scott Adkins, Marton Csokas and

I'd argue that the biggest A-list asskicker today isn't even on your list: Will Smith.

Of your list, I'll give you Jackman, Bale and Owen. I wouldn't necessarily count Craig or Damon, since they're only "action guys" in a single franchise each and haven't really done it outside of that. Diesel doesn't have much going on outside Riddick.

I like Statham, but his movies aren't exactly blockbusters so I wouldn't consider him A-list. Same for Jane. And Butler (outside of 300). Perlman is great,

Looks like fun

Rock Johnson vs. Marky Mark, with Sam J. and Willy thrown in for fun. What's not to like?

I don't like Sam Jackson. The man's everywhere! He's in everything! And he has this cocky tone that gets f'n annoying after a while. Like he's shouting but not shouting but just imposing himself like a bully. Argh! I like Dwayne Johnson, though. Just don't like the direction he's taking. If he played badass roles I'm sure he'd be in The Expendables like Steve Austin.

Wanna see badass? Look for Steve Austin. Wanna see potential badass but plays roles that call for no acting chops...look for

Coogan as villain? Easily the most exciting part about this movie.
