Southland cometh!

SOUTHLAND TALES is just way too controversial for me to not want to see it, and the thing hasn't even gotten a cinematic release yet. Today we're getting a confirmation that the trailer will appear in the first week of September, both online and on television. Furthermore, we've also been dealt a slew of new pictures from the movie, some showing off the special effects being used in the flick, and one of Bai Ling showing off a few of her own special effects, if you know what I mean. You can check those out HERE.

In case you've somehow missed it, SOUTHLAND TALES is Richard Kelly's first film since DONNIE DARKO. The movie is set in a futuristic LA as it sits on the brink of social, economic and environmental disaster. Somehow, the lives of an action-star (The Rock), a porn star (Sarah Michelle Geller, nice) and a Hermosa Beach police officer (Seann William Scott) intertwine as they uncover a vast conspiracy. The movie drops on November 9th.
Extra Tidbit: Bai Ling served 3 years in the People's Liberation Army in China, was sent to a mental hospital to treat her depression and then became a Chinese movie star, all before she turned 18.
