Superman to make an appearance on CBS’ Supergirl series

Supergirl Superman

CBS has put out a casting call for their Supergirl series starring Melissa Benoist as Kara Zor-El, and apparently the network is seeking "a body double for a DC comic superhero" who must be "5’11 or taller and be square jawed and have a ripped physique." Based on that description the body double could be for any number of DC comic book characters, however the casting call also states that they want applicants to use "Superman" in the subject line.

So what can this casting call tell us about how Superman will be used on the series? Supes will probably be shown from a distance or from his squared jaw down, and it also more than likely won't be a huge role. I know Chief Creative Officer Geoff Johns said DC "will not be integrating the film and television universes," but I think it would be a lot cooler if Henry Cavill appeared on Supergirl as the Man of Steel.

However, Johns has also said DC is taking a different approach compared to what Marvel is doing with their movies and TV series, and referred to it as a multiverse, so I do believe there's still a chance that (for example) Ezra Miller's The Flash could one day team-up with the Grant Gustin version from the CW show, either on the small or big screen. Do you think Superman making an appearance on Supergirl is a good idea, or do you think it will just complicate things since it will have to explained why he's not around more on the series?
