The Movie Title Stills Collection

You might not think too much of that fleeting moment when a film’s title first appears, but it takes on a different essence when viewed along with dozens of others.

Web designer Christian Annyas has been capturing these brief title cards and storing them in a single growing repository, the Movie Title Stills Collection. While not nearly comprehensive, it is well-structured and does contain several movies (both popular and more obscure) from each year, plus separate sections for Westerns and Noir.

It’s pretty interesting to see how many of our favorite films have stylish title designs compared to more straightforward, and how the “art” of the title has changed over the century. Check out the site HERE.
