Stepfather poster!

Last Updated on July 26, 2021

An uninspired (I’m assuming) remake gets an uninspired poster. Here you see the one-sheet for THE STEPFATHER (courtesy of out pals at JoBlo.com), which based on the image looks like it’s about an angry computer-generated tie salesman. But it’s not, and I doubt I have to describe to you what it’s really about, since if you’re like me you fondly recall the tale of the unhinged psycho’s never-ending quest for the perfect family. I still can’t look at Terry O’Quinn without thinking of his classic basement freakout.

But now we’ve got Dylan Walsh (“Nip/Tuck”) as Jerry. No, I’m sorry, “David Harris”. (What was wrong with Jerry..?) I don’t have a problem with Walsh, actually. He’s got a likable blandness that suits the role. But as for the movie itself, well, it’s from the director AND writer of the PROM NIGHT remake, so my interest is already just about nil. However, Amber Heard’s presence in the cast spikes it up. Hard.

THE STEPFATHER comes out on OCTOBER 16th.
