Wrong Turn reboot trailer brings horror back to the woods

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

In 2003, a group of friends took a Wrong Turn on a back-road and ran into a group of cannibalistic inbred mountain men. The slasher film went on to spawn a series of five direct-to-video sequels (the first of which remains a favourite of mine) but the time has finally arrived for a reboot. Saban Films have released the first trailer for Wrong Turn, a reimagining of the long-running franchise that stars Charlotte Vega, Adain Bradley, Bill Sage, Emma Dumont, Dylan McTee, Daisy Head, Tim DeZarn, and Matthew Modine.

The new film follows a group of friends who set out to hike the Appalachian Trail, but stray off the course and cross into land inhabited by The Foundation, a hidden community of people who have lived in the mountains for hundreds of years and use deadly means to protect their way of life. Original Wrong Turn screenwriter Alan B. McElroy returned to pen the remake, which was directed by Mike P. Nelson. The film will debut in select theaters for one night only on January 26, 2021.
