Vincent Cassel is by far one of the most impressive actors working today. From his incredible work in such films as IRREVERSIBLE and MESRINE PART 1 and 2 to his American features including BLACK SWAN and EASTERN PROMISES, he always creates some very memorable characters. The same can be said for his latest feature, Danny Boyle’s TRANCE which is a more than just a heist flick. In the film Cassel is seemingly a typical thug, but of course nothing is as it seems in this twisted little thriller.
I’ve had the opportunity to speak with Mr. Cassel before and I continue to be impressed by the actor. He is charming and absolutely polite, and clearly loves the work he is given the chance to do. We spoke about this unique role and the many layers that he was given. James McAvoy, Rosario Dawson and Cassel make for an exciting triangle in this uniquely flavored modern day film noir. TRANCE opens this Friday in limited release.
