We’re two weeks away from Sony‘s Spider-Man: Brand New Day swinging into theaters, and the latest promo for the anticipated superhero spectacle is teasing the web-headed hero’s most transformative adventure yet! Sony’s new “Special Look” for Brand New Day focuses on Peter Parker’s emotional journey through a world that can’t remember him, and how the people he’s lost have moved on without him. Today’s new video also shares new characters, footage, and death-defying action from the upcoming film. Spider-Man: Brand New Day looks like a blast, anchored by an emotional story that reframes Parker’s alter-ego in ways we’ve not seen before.

Holland goes hands-on with Spider-Man

In addition to sharing new details about Brand New Day, the video shows cast and crew members talking highly about Tom Holland’s hands-on involvement in the evolution of Peter’s character. Not only does Holland play Peter in the film, but he’s also working alongside director Destin Daniel Cretton to ensure this is Spidey’s most thrilling adventure yet. In the video, you can see Holland working closely with Cretton behind the scenes, even calling for one more take after the director gave the thumbs up. Holland cares deeply about Brand New Day, looking at the project as a clean slate for everyone involved. I love Holland’s sincerity, work ethic, and enthusiasm for the filmmaking process. It’s one of the many reasons he’s my favorite actor to play Peter Parker/Spider-Man so far.

Can Brand New Day top No Way Home?

I can’t believe it’s been five years since Spider-Man: No Way Home hit theaters. It feels like only yesterday when fans were losing their minds about Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield starring in the film alongside Holland, Zendaya, Jacob Batalon, and more. What I love the most about Brand New Day (so far) is how much the film’s plot feels like a genuine comic book story. I commend Marvel for tackling such a bold subject as erasing a hero’s identity. Starting from scratch is not easy, but I trust Marvel to make it work, and I’m eager to experience the movie for myself when it comes out in theaters at the end of this month. It’s killing me that I’m going to be out of town when Brand New Day comes to theaters. I want to find a theater near my hotel in Portland and fit a screening into my busy schedule. I’m gonna make it happen. Watch me!
